Synopsis:

This work reviews past achievements in pump technology, and provides the impetus for the further development of sealless pumps. It analyzes the present state of technology of hermetic centrifugal pumps and rotary displacement pumps, and contains detailed descriptions of the design, performance and application of such machines. Hermetic, or sealless, industrial pumps have seen constant innovation in design and applications over the last half century. Today, safety requirements in the workplace and pressure from a public increasingly aware of environmental factors have paved the way for the greater use of hermetic fluid-moving systems. Robert Neumaier is the author of "Manual of Modern Pump Systems" and the co-author of "Side-Channel Flow Machines".
