DP-FMEA-NewsDP FMEA (Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analyses) is available from DP & Marine Assurance as part of the company’s global services for a comprehensive range of Dynamic Positioning support services to the marine, construction, drilling and floating production industries.

DP FMEA is a crucial test and analysis required by class for any Dynamically Positioned (DP) vessel for Class 2 or Class 3. DP FMEA enables a DP operator to be aware of a vessels capabilities, as well as its limitations.

Operating from our office locations in Bergen, United Kingdom, Cyprus and Singapore, our high quality Dynamic Positioning (DP) services include DP Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (DP FMEA) and Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA).

DP FMEA/FMECA Trials provided by DP & Marine Assurance Norway AS will ascertain the safety, reliability and redundancy of onboard systems for DP positioning and DP related marine systems.

“The objective of the FMEA is to identify the single point failures in any system in the vessel which, if they were to occur, would cause loss of the position-keeping capability of the vessel,” explains IMCA’s Technical Director, Jane Bugler. “The causes and consequences of any such failures should be noted and obvious corrective actions, which can be taken to avoid such failures, should be described in the final FMEA report.”
